Day 1: We depart this morning on our great western journey. We are enroute to Tennessee today, where we spend the night in Knoxville.
Day 2: We continue south to New Orleans, where upon arrival we enjoy a fantastic dinner at a popular New Orleans restaurant.(D)
Day 3: We enjoy a tour of New Orleans and learn how the city has recovered from Hurricane Katrina. Enjoy the French Quarter, Bourbon Street and Jackson Square before we relax on a delightful luncheon cruise on the Mississippi River aboard the Natchez Steamboat. Then we depart for Beaumont, Texas, our home for the night. (L)
Day 4: Our journey through the Lone Star State continues as we arrive in San Antonio and visit one of America’s most popular shrines, The Alamo. We enjoy a delicious dinner along the popular Riverwalk area and then conclude our day with a cruise along the colorful Riverwalk. (D)
Day 5: Our western journey continues as we travel to the west Texas border town of El Paso.
Day 6: We depart El Paso this morning and travel to Tombstone, an historic western city in Arizona. It is best known as the site of the”gunfight at the OK Corral.” We tour the town and give you free time to explore the shops. We spend the night in the Tucson area.
Day 7: We depart Tucson and travel to Sedona Park. When we look into the Canyon, it looks so familiar, then you realize that you have seen the huge mesas and buttes in many old western movies. We spend the night in Flagstaff, where we enjoy dinner at a popular local restaurant. (D)
Day 8: We tour the greatest natural attraction in the world, the Grand Canyon. You will have plenty of time for pictures before we continue to Las Vegas, our home for the next two nights.
Day 9: We tour Hoover Dam this morning and return to Las Vegas, with the remainder of the afternoon free. Tonight be our guests for a special dinner (D)
Day 10: We depart Las Vegas this morning enroute to California and the vibrant city of San Diego. Upon arrival we relax over dinner at a popular local restaurant. (D)
Day 11: We tour the world-famous San Diego Zoo this morning before boarding a “Duck” that allows us a unique perspective of San Diego from both land and water. We drive north to Los Angeles where we spend the next two nights. Dinner is included. (D)
Day 12: Today a local guide will show us the sights of Los Angeles on an all-day tour. This will include Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Grauman’s Chinese Theatre, Rodeo Drive and all the points of interest in the “City of Angels.”
Day 13: We depart Los Angeles this morning and travel to one of America’s most charming areas, the Monterey Peninsula. We spend the night in the Carmel area. Enroute we visit one of America’s grandest homes, Hearst Castle. We enjoy dinner at a popular local restaurant. (D)
Day 14: We travel along famed 17 Mile Drive and view the magnificent mansions, the Lone Cypress and the famous Pebble Beach Golf Course. We will give you free time to explore the shops and eateries of Carmel before we continue to San Francisco, our home for the next two nights.
Day 15: We tour all the familiar spots on a guided tour of San Francisco. See the Golden Gate Bridge, Chinatown and all the other famous landmarks. We have included a special tour to Alcatraz Island, one of our country’s most famous prisons. Dinner will be included at a popular San Francisco restaurant. (D)
Day 16: We depart San Francisco this morning and travel through the Sierra Nevada Mountains enroute to Yosemite National Park. Yosemite’s amazing waterfalls, rock formations and groves of beautiful trees will leave you awestruck. We spend the night in Reno, Lake Tahoe area.
Day 17: We travel from Reno to Salt Lake City. This evening we visit Temple Square and get a look at the Mormon Temple, The Tabernacle and the historic Shrines of the Mormon Church.
Day 18: We depart Salt Lake City this morning and travel across the Rocky Mountains to the “Mile High City” of Denver. Tonight we enjoy a delicious dinner at one of Denver’s popular restaurants. (D)
Day 19: We depart Denver this morning and travel to Topeka, Kansas.
Day 20: We travel across America’s heartland, arriving in St. Louis, mid-afternoon, where we visit the famous Arch for a spectacular view of the Mississippi River and the city of St. Louis. A final lunch allows us time to recall the memories of our western journey. We spend the night in the Indianapolis area. (L)
Day 21: Our journey is complete as we make our way home. We return late afternoon.
