Day 2: We depart Myrtle Beach and travel to the charming city of Charleston. We include a carriage tour that allows a closeup view of the beautiful homes and gardens of Charleston. We include a luncheon before we enjoy a relaxing cruise of scenic Charleston Harbor that will also include a visit to historic Fort Sumter, the site of the first shots that started Americas Civil War. We depart Charleston and travel to Beaufort, the second oldest town in the state. Here we relax aboard a carriage tour of this picturesque old port town, retaining much of the atmosphere of an earlier era. We continue to the popular resort area of Hilton Head, where we enjoy a fantastic dinner upon arrival. (D)
Day 4: We tour Hilton Head this morning with a local tour guide and view the beautiful homes and sandy beaches. A highlight of the day will be a luncheon at Harbor Town, part of the famous Sea Pines Plantation. We continue to lovely Savannah, our home for the night. Enjoy dinner this evening at one of Savannah’s popular restaurants. (L, D)
Day 5: We learn about Savannah on a guided tour, featuring one of our country’s most gracious cities. Savannah’s history is eloquently spoken in its mansions, exquisite iron works and ancient cobblestones. Lunch will be a treat at a popular Savannah restaurant. After a short period of free time we must say good-bye to Savannah and return to Florence. (L)
