Day 1: We travel to New England and enjoy a narrated cruise from scenic Stony Creek, CT. There are over 25 beautiful islands to see, many of them pristine and uninhabited. See unique Victorian homes with gingerbread trimmings, widow walks and garden gazebos. We learn of the island’s history, nautical legends and hidden treasures. We spend the night in Mystic.
Day 2: We continue to Boston and relax on a splendid Lighthouse Brunch Cruise. As we savor the menu and drink in the ocean views from three spacious decks, we will view many of Boston’s historic landmarks including four of the area’s historic lighthouses. We also view the USS Constitution, “Old Ironsides,” and tour the nearby museum. Tonight you will be on your own for dinner in the Faneuil Hall/Quincy Market area. (B, L)
Day 3: We visit Salem and learn about the famous 1692 witchcraft trials that consumed this New England seaside village. View elaborate deep-water sea captain’s homes and the famous House of Seven Gables. Ready your cameras for one of New England’s most photographed locations at the very tip of stunning Cape Ann, Rockport. This afternoon enjoy a tall-ship adventure on the Schooner Thomas E. Lannon. Help the crew hoist the sails or sit back and enjoy the ocean breeze and amazing sights. We dine tonight at the Gloucester House Restaurant which serves the freshest seafood, followed by enchanting tales of the sea. (B, D)
Day 4: We discover Maine’s charming southern coast, stopping at York Beach and the famous Nubble Lighthouse. We visit the quaint seaside town of Ogunquit and travel to Kennebunkport, where we have lunch on your own. This afternoon we relax on a nature cruise of scenic Perkins Cove. Hear about life on this rocky coast as we glide by scenic points of interest. Tonight you will be our guests at a Maine Lobsterbake, combining the traditional lobsterbake coupled with a dose of down-east entertainment. (B, D)
Day 5: We depart for home, filled with memories of our summertime getaway up the New England coast. (B)
