Day 1: The warm Florida sun awaits us as we travel south on a new tour that explores some of Florida’s most popular attractions as well as some fascinating new stops. Our first night’s lodging will be in Florence, South Carolina.
Day 2: We continue south enroute to Jacksonville. We tour the Busch Brewery for an informative tour on how the nation’s largest beer manufacturer produces their well-known product. An included dinner concludes our day. (B, D)
Day 3: This morning we visit Kingsley Plantation, located on Fort George Island. We will tour the Plantation house, kitchen house and the ruins of 25 of the original slave cabins. Learn about the history of the Kingsley family as they existed in pre-Civil War times. We continue to our nation’s oldest city, St. Augustine, where we enjoy a tram tour that will acquaint us with the city’s famous sights. A delicious dinner concludes our day. (D)
Day 4: We depart St. Augustine this morning enroute to Orlando. We first visit the Kennedy Space Center and learn everything about America’s travels in space. View all the exhibits the Space Center has to offer, including Space Shuttle Atlantis. We spend the next three nights in Orlando. Dinner at a popular restaurant concludes our day. (D)
Day 5: A unique attraction begins our day with a visit to Safari Wilderness, where an experienced driver will tour us through large herds of exotic game. We will tour over 260 acres of pristine wilderness in customized safari vehicles. Here you will experience the silence of nature, enveloped by an open vista of grazing animals surrounded by cypress domes and big trees. We later take an airboat ride, seeing alligators, eagles, osprey and other wildlife. We conclude our day with Florida nature by attending Medieval Times Dinner Theatre, watching jousting and horsemanship while enjoying tasty food. (D)
Day 6: Choose to visit either Sea World or EPCOT at Walt Disney World. Sea World is the world’s most famous aquatic park and features many shows and exhibits showcasing dolphins, whales, manatees, penguins and more. EPCOT, which consists of Future World and the World Showcase, not only features fun and educational rides, but world-class restaurants within the park.
Day 7: We depart Orlando enroute to Sarasota, located on Florida’s Gulf Coast. Today we tour the John & Mable Ringling Museum, created from the fortune John Ringling derived from his circus and real estate investments. Included is the Circus Museum, Museum of Art and Ringling’s fabulous mansion. Tonight, relax on a Sunset Dinner Cruise, featuring fine food and excellent views of the sunset over the Gulf of Mexico. Day 8: We begin our journey home, enroute to Lumberton, North Carolina. Sit back and relax as we relive the memories of our days under the warm Florida sun.
Day 9: We return home early evening.
