Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Travel to New England and enjoy the colorful fall foliage. We will ride on four of the area’s popular trains to give you an up-close view of the spectacular fall colors. Our first trip will be aboard the Berkshire Scenic Railway, featuring scenic views of Mount Greylock and the surrounding Hoosac Mountains. We continue to Killington, VT, where we spend the next two nights. Dinner is included tonight. (D)

Day 2: We begin our day with an excursion on the Green Mountain Flyer. Ride in antique passenger coaches pulled by a vintage locomotive as we travel along the Connecticut and Williams Rivers between Bellows Falls and the 1872 Chester Depot. After lunch on our own in Manchester, we visit Hildene Estate and Gardens, a 24-room Georgian Revival mansion, home to the Lincoln family descendants. We travel along scenic Route 100, viewing spectacular fall foliage on our way to the Vermont Country Store, full of fascinating merchandise and New England antiques. Dinner is included in the Bryant House, located at the Country Store. (B, D)

Day 3: We begin our day with a visit to the Billings Farm Museum. We tour the charming 1890 farmhouse located in Vermont’s rolling hills, enjoy a horse-drawn wagon ride and even sample some farm-fresh ice cream. We continue to Woodstock, the “quintessential” New England village, to enjoy lunch on your own and free time to browse the village shops. Enroute to New Hampshire, we stop for a photo op at Quechee Gorge, “Vermont’s Little Grand Canyon.” Tonight we discover Lake Winnipesaukee by rail aboard the Winnipesaukee RR. Enjoy a roast turkey dinner as we hug the picturesque shoreline, with views of “grand style resorts.” We spend the next two nights in Laconia, New Hampshire. (B, D)

Day 4: We travel through the foliage of Franconia Notch enroute to the Flume Gorge Visitor’s Center, perched high on a ridge in the scenic White Mountains with a million dollar view. Our final train ride is aboard the Taste of New Hampshire. We will munch on samples of New Hampshire made and grown products as we ride the rails through the majestic White Mountains. Our final stop will be at Fadden’s Maple and Country Store, boasting maple syrup that has won national awards. We also visit an 18th-century general store, a fifth- generation treasure. Dinner is included tonight before our return to our motel. (B, D)

Day 5: Our fall foliage train excursion comes to an end today as our deluxe motorcoach returns us to Pennsylvania early evening. (B)
