Day 1: Visit San Antonio, one of the southwest’s most popular destinations. We will visit many famous attractions in the Lone Star State as well as enjoy the sights along the way. We travel to Morristown, TN today.
Day 2: We continue to Nashville, Music City USA, where upon arrival we enjoy a guided tour of Nashville, introducing us to the homes of the stars and other famous landmarks. We enjoy dinner at a popular local restaurant. (D)
Day 3: We travel to Memphis, the home of the blues and Elvis Presley. We tour Graceland, the home of Elvis, before continuing to Texarkana, our home for the evening. A dinner concludes our day of touring. (D)
Day 4: We continue our drive to our ultimate destination, home of the Alamo – beautiful San Antonio where we stay for the next 3 nights. Later we enjoy a relaxing dinner and cruise along the famous San Antonio Riverwalk. (D)
Day 5: We begin our day with a guided tour of San Antonio. You will be introduced to historic landmarks of the city. We return to the scenic Riverwalk where you will encounter outdoor cafés and trendy boutiques before we enjoy dinner at a popular Riverwalk restaurant. There will be free time to explore the shops after dinner. (D)
Day 6: We take a day trip to Texas Hill Country, where we visit the Pioneer Museum complex. We then depart for the Lyndon B. Johnson National Historic Park, where you will go on a guided tour of the LBJ Ranch. See the “Texas White House” and visit the LBJ birthplace. Tonight you can choose from the large variety of restaurants in San Antonio.
Day 7: We begin our day with a visit to the IMAX Theatre in San Antonio to view “Alamo – The Price of Freedom.” Then we visit the building and grounds of the Alamo, the Shrine of Liberty. We depart San Antonio and visit the Texas Ranger Museum and learn the history of these famous lawmen. We arrive in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and enjoy dinner at a popular local restaurant. (D)
Day 8: We travel to South Fork Ranch, home of JR and the rest of the Ewing clan made famous in the TV show “Dallas.” We enjoy a tour of the ranch, then have a hearty Texas breakfast. We continue to Dallas, where we tour the Sixth Floor Museum, a memorial and exhibit examining John F. Kennedy’s life and legacy. You will view the sixth floor of the Texas School Book Depository building from which the fatal shots were fired. We spend the night in the Memphis area. (B)
Day 9: We travel to Cincinnati, Ohio. Tonight you will be our guests at a farewell dinner, where we recount the many memories of our Texas vacation. (D)
Day 10: We begin our final day of travel, heading home with memories of a wonderful trip. We return home late afternoon.
