Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Travel through fall foliage that features four train rides from seaside to mountaintop. This morning we journey to Connecticut and board the Essex Steam Train for a picturesque trip along the Connecticut River. We continue to the Boston area, where we relax over an included dinner. (D)

Day 2: A guided tour of Boston begins our day as we view all the historic landmarks that made Boston famous. Lunch will be on your own at Quincy Market, the historic center filled with shops and eateries. After lunch, we embark on a Portland lighthouse tour, viewing the many lighthouses that dot the Maine coastline. Tonight enjoy a fresh Maine seafood dinner. (B, D)

Day 3: We ride the Conway Scenic Railway and enjoy the scenery of the Mount Washington Valley countryside. Cross over the East Branch, Saco and Ellis Rivers as we meander through the majestic White Mountains. We stop in North Conway Village, one of New England’s most charming villages before continuing to the New Hampshire Maple Experience and learn the process of how these sweet treats are made. We drive through Franconia Notch, one of New England’s most scenic by-ways before relaxing over an included dinner. (B, D)

Day 4: We cruise Squam Lake, also known as Golden Pond, and view nature’s wildlife at its best. We stop on the shores of Lake Winnipesaukee for lunch on your own before touring the Lakes Region. Tonight our dinner will be aboard the Lake Winnipesaukee Railroad. Enjoy hand-carved turkey and the fabulous views along the picturesque shoreline. (B, D)

Day 5: We stop at Vermont’s “Little Grand Canyon”, Quechee Gorge, before we hop aboard our fourth and final train ride, Amtrak’s Vermonter. Sit back as we ride the rails through the scenic Green Mountains. We also visit the famous Yankee Candle Company before traveling to Historic Deerfield and tour through a period house on Main Street which spans three centuries of history. Dinner is included tonight. (B, D)

Day 6: We depart for home filled with the memories of our train excursions and the fabulous sights of our New England getaway. (B)
