Day 1: Our first day’s travel takes us to Elkhart, IN, where we will have dinner, unwind and relax at our accommodations.
Day 2: We continue our journey, stopping in South Bend for a tour of the beautiful campus of Notre Dame University. We continue to the “Windy City” of Chicago where we spend the next two nights. We begin our visit to Chicago with a guided sightseeing tour that will introduce us to the many sights and landmarks of Chicago. We relax over an included dinner at a popular local restaurant. (B, D)
Day 3: We enjoy breakfast at our hotel before beginning our day of sightseeing in Chicago. Our first stop is the Willis Tower, the country’s tallest building. See Chicago from a unique perspective atop this famous building. We then tour the Shedd Aquarium, one of our country’s premier aquariums. Lunch will be on your own at the Navy Pier, Chicago’s lakefront playground and the Midwest’s #1 attraction. A highlight of our day will be an Architectural boat tour for an up-close view of Chicago’s magnificent buildings. We conclude our day with another dinner at a popular Chicago restaurant. (B, D)
Day 4: We depart Chicago this morning enroute to the Wisconsin Dells. Enroute we tour the unique House on the Rock. This extraordinary home stands atop a chimney-like rock 450 feet above the Wyoming Valley. The house is an architectural wonder with several pools of water, six massive fireplaces and even trees growing through the roof. We arrive at the Dells and enjoy dinner and the popular Wisconsin Opry show tonight. (B, D)
Day 5: We begin our day with a boat cruise of the scenic Upper Dells. We continue to Oshkosh and attend the famous EAA Adventure Oshkosh Airshow. Enjoy the variety of events, activities and air shows at the world-famous event. We spend the night in the Green Bay area. (B)
Day 6: We tour famous Lambeau Field Stadium, the home of the Green Bay Packers and also visit the Packer Hall of Fame. We continue our journey to Mackinac Island for a two-night visit to the world-famous Grand Hotel, which has been catering to guests since 1887. After taking our ferry across the straits of Mackinac, we enjoy the first of our many memorable dining experiences at the Grand Hotel. (D)
Day 7: Following breakfast, step back in time as we enjoy a carriage tour of Mackinac Island, including a visit to Old Fort Mackinac. The remainder of the day will be free to enjoy the Grand Hotel and the shops of the island. Another fabulous dinner completes our enjoyable day. (B, D)
Day 8: Our ferry will take us back to the mainland as we journey east to Dearborn, MI. Upon arrival we walk the streets of Greenfield Village and explore historic structures from the Thomas Edison’s lab to where Noah Webster made the first dictionary. A farewell dinner completes our day’s travels. (B, D)
Day 9: Today we complete our journey home, sharing the week’s journey, sights and experiences with our fellow travelers. (B)
