Day 1: We travel to Boston and arrive at Faneuil Hall in time to explore and have dinner at this historic center filled with shops, eateries and carts of handcrafted gifts. (D)
Day 2: Following breakfast, we ride aboard Amtrak, enjoying this scenic coastal ride from Massachusetts to Maine. Sit back, relax and enjoy the views. We arrive in Kennebunkport, ME and have lunch on your own before enjoying a guided tour of Kennebunkport, the summer home of the Bush family. We continue to Portland where we enjoy dinner. (B, D)
Day 3: Enjoy a driving tour of Portland, including the famous Portland Headlight and views of Casco Bay. We then board the Maine Narrow Gauge Railroad and take a trip back in time as we enjoy magnificent views of Portland’s waterfront. Discover the unique two-foot gauge trains that linked rural Maine to the rest of the world. We arrive in Rockland and have lunch on our own before enjoying a tour of Camden including panoramic views from Mount Battie overlooking scenic Penobscot Bay. Dinner is included before arriving at our overnight lodging in Belfast. (B, D)
Day 4: Our final train ride is aboard the Belfast and Moosehead Lake Railroad traveling through the Maine countryside. We spend the remainder of the day in Bar Harbor and touring Acadia National Park. We travel to the Peak of Cadillac Mountain for breath-taking views of the mountains and the Atlantic Ocean. Tonight you will be our guests for a Maine lobster dinner, a fabulous way to end our time in Maine. (B, D)
Day 5: We travel home today with fond memories of our train rides and fabulous sightseeing in Maine. (B)
