Day 1: We are enroute to scenic Maine to enjoy the many attractions the state has to offer. We travel to Lincoln, NH, today and spend our first night at the Indian Head Resort where we relax over an included dinner. (D)
Day 2: This morning we continue north on the Kancamagus Scenic Highway for a 34-mile drive through the White Mountain National Forest. In North Conway Village we board the Valley Lunch Train for a scenic excursion through the woods. We continue to Maine and check into our home for the next two nights, the charming Rangeley Inn. The backdrop of the Rangeley Lakes region provides spectacular mountain vistas and vast shimmering lakes. Moose, loons, and other wildlife abound. The innkeepers at the Rangeley Inn will go out of their way to ensure everyone’s comfort. Tonight you will be guests for dinner at the Inn. (B, L, D)
Day 3: Following a hearty breakfast in the dining room, we depart for Coos Canyon with a stop at the “Height of Land” scenic lookout. Upon arrival, we will visit the mineral store and join a local prospector who will show us how to pan for gold. Lunch is included back at the Inn before we relax on a cruise on Rangeley Lake. Following the cruise we tour the Outdoor Sporting Museum. We return to the Inn for a delightful dinner. We go on our Moose Hunt just before dusk to see how many we can spot alongside the roadside. (B, L, D)
Day 4: We depart Rangeley this morning as we travel to our final evening in Portland. Along the way we visit the Norlands Living History Center where we learn the story of one of Maine’s most famous families, the Washburns. An old- fashioned country lunch is included during our visit. Next we enjoy a 90-minute scenic lighthouse cruise through the busy harbor and islands of Casco Bay. Our lodging is in the Portland Area. (B, L)
