Day 2: This morning we enjoy breakfast at Keeneland Race Track and watch the horses train. We later visit the Kentucky Horse Park. Most places only tell you about legends, but at the Kentucky Horse Park, they may trot right by you. This park is hands-on, so you can touch the horses, smell the hay and see first-hand the majesty of the horses. We later travel to Bardstown and take a guided tour of the historic mansion, My Old Kentucky Home, of Stephen Foster’s ballad. We relax over a dinner buffet at the Stephen Foster Restaurant before attending the show “Stephon Foster – The Musical”, featuring colorful period costumes, lively dancing and more than 50 songs written by Foster. We spend the night in Bardstown. (B, D)
Day 3: We travel to Louisville this morning and visit historic Churchill Downs. We have a guided tour of the racetrack followed by a film at the Kentucky Derby Museum titled “The Greatest Race.” We later visit the Louisville Slugger Museum where baseball bats have been crafted since 1884. We than tour the Muhammad Ali Museum which presents the life of this athlete and a man of conviction. Our day ends with a dinner cruise aboard the Belle of Louisville, a charming reminder of the riverboat era as we cruise on the Ohio River. We spend the night in Louisville. (B, D)
Day 4: We travel east and visit the Ark Encounter. This full-sized replica of Noah’s Ark is the largest wooden timber structure in the world and contains hundreds of amazing exhibits and displays. Dozens of exhibits within the Ark will bring to life the biblical accounts of the events surrounding the Great Flood. Tonight an included light dinner is available at our Drury Inn Motel. (B, D)
Day 5: We begin our journey home, stopping enroute at the Dickinson Cattle Company for lunch and a tour at Longhorn Ranch. We board a rugged ranch bus for a close-up view of Texas Longhorn, Blue Lingo and even African Watusi Cattle. We return home early evening. (B)
