Day 1: 2020 celebrates the 400th Anniversary of the Pilgrims coming to America. Travel back in time and see where they landed at Provincetown before settling at Plimoth Plantation. View the full-scale replica Mayflower II and enjoy a Thanksgiving meal. Today we travel to Hyannis, MA, and settle in for a four-night stay. Eat like a Pilgrim tonight with an oven-roasted turkey dinner and enjoy tales of your costumed Pilgrim. (D)
Day 2: Cruise beside the Mayflower II as it journeys from Provincetown harbor and she takes her commemorative voyage across Cape Cod Bay to their settled home in Plymouth. The celebration of the 400th Anniversary continues in Provincetown where the Mayflower will be docked with special programs at the Pilgrim Monument. We then have a guided tour and learn about the Pilgrim’s first landing, how they lived and the creation of the Mayflower Compact. Dinner concludes our most memorable day. (B, D)
Day 3: We tour lovely Martha’s Vineyard today. Our tour will include the famous Gingerbread Houses, Island Tabernacle and Antique Carousel of Oak Bluffs. Travel through the island’s charming towns to Aquinnah, the Wampanoag Indians tribal land, and see stunning cliffs overlooking the Atlantic. Dinner is included on the island. (B, D)
Day 4: This morning we tour the Alden House, home of John and Priscilla Alden and their 10 children. We then discover Plymouth, “American’s Hometown”. Take time to explore Plymouth Rock and the Pilgrim’s landing site. Take time for lunch on your own on Plymouth’s beautiful waterfront, filled with shops and many restaurants. History will come to life at Plimoth Plantation, where costumed Pilgrims take us back to the 1620’s as they perform their daily tasks of cooking, harvesting, gardening and tending farm animals. Tonight, enjoy an ocean-fresh New England Lobster Dinner to conclude our day. (B, D)
Day 5: We travel home, returning early evening. (B)
