Day 1: Travel to the beautiful Outer Banks of North Carolina known for its white, sandy beaches, quaint villages, great food and entertaining attractions. We journey to the Outer Banks today and check in to the Hilton Garden Inn, our home for the next four nights. Dinner is included tonight. (D)
Day 2: Following breakfast, we travel to the Wright Brothers National Memorial. It was here where Wilbur and Orville Wright combined the wind, sand and a dream to teach the world how to fly. We continue to Manteo, where we enjoy lunch on your own and some free time for shopping. This afternoon we climb aboard our boat for an enjoyable dolphin cruise. Our final stop today will be the Roanoke Island Festival Park where we explore the Adventure Museum and Outdoor Living Museum and visit the Elizabeth II, a small wooden vessel that is a replica of sailing vessels from early America. A delicious dinner concludes our day. (B, D)
Day 3: The morning is free to enjoy the beach and the hotel. Following lunch on your own, we travel to Corolla and tour on a 4 x 4 passenger experience you will not soon forget. Travel past refuge areas and sanctuary sites for a viewing of birds, local wildlife and maybe even an opportunity to see the wild horses of the Outer Banks. Tonight we enjoy dinner at the popular Captain George’s Restaurant for a bountiful all-you-can eat buffet including seafood, steak, ribs, chicken, salads and fantastic desserts. (B, D)
Day 4: Following breakfast, we visit Timbuck II Shopping Village where you will have your choice of locations for lunch and over 60 exciting shops. This afternoon we travel to Currituck Heritage Park. While visiting the park we will have time to explore the Whalehead Club & Exhibit Gallery as well as The Outer Banks Wildlife Education Center. The whalehead club is a restored 1920’s mansion and the wildlife center contains over 200 artistic and antique duck decoys and is where Ducks Unlimited got its start. A final dinner at a popular local restaurant concludes our day. (B, D)
Day 5: Following breakfast, we begin our journey north filled with memories of our springtime getaway to the beautiful Outer Banks. (B)
