Day 1: Enjoy a summer getaway to the beautiful Smoky Mountains. Upon arrival in Pigeon Forge, TN, we settle in to our hotel for the next four nights before relaxing over dinner at a popular local restaurant. (D)
Day 2: Enjoy a guided tour into the great Smoky Mountains National Park. Your “Country Cuzin”, one of the Hatfields or McCoys, will escort the coach into the Smoky Mountains and regale you with family anecdotes, history, mountain lore and, if you’re lucky, moonshine still locations. The tour also includes a stop at the Moonshine Distillery with a sample tasting of the Smoky’s best White Lightning! Following our tour we travel to Gatlinburg with free time for lunch on your own and time to explore the sights. Tonight we attend the exciting new Dolly Parton’s Smoky Mountain Adventures Dinner Show. (B, D)
Day 3: This morning we visit Pigeon Forge’s newest attraction, Alcatraz East. This new replica of a prison and crime museum contains five unique galleries spread over two floors and covers the entire criminal and penal system. Free time will also be given to explore The Island, a collection of shops and restaurants in Pigeon Forge. We later visit the Titanic Exhibit, letting you experience what is was like to walk the hallways, parlors, cabins and grand staircase of the Titanic. Dinner and entertainment this evening will be at the Hatfield and McCoy Dinner Show, where you are invited to a special reunion of the most famous family feud in history. (B, D)
Day 4: Visit Dollywood, the “entertainment capital of the Smokies.” The combination of country music shows, delicious country cooking, family rides and mountain craftsmen will make our day a special one. This evening we attend Dolly Parton’s Stampede for an included dinner and entertainment. Seated in an arena-style theatre, we enjoy a full-course feast and watch riders perform daring feats, trick riding and competitions. (B, D)
Day 5: Following breakfast at the hotel, we begin our journey home, traveling over scenic highways, with fond memories of our fall visit to the Smoky Mountains. We return home early evening. (B)
