Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Enjoy fall foliage at its best as we travel throughout New England on a tour that covers the Berkshire Mountains, Vermont’s Green Mountains, the White Mountains of New Hampshire and Trapp Family Lodge. We spend the night in Lenox, MA, where we enjoy an included dinner. (D)

Day 2: We tour the quaint Berkshire Mountains and learn the history of Tanglewood and the gilded age of this mountainous resort. We also tour the Norman Rockwell Museum, home to the world’s largest collection of original Rockwell art. We relax over a luncheon at the famous Red Lion Inn. This afternoon we tour the Apple Barn and Country Bake Shop, where we ride to the top of the orchard for a spectacular view and enjoy a farm-fresh snack. We spend the night in the Killington, VT area. (B, L)

Day 3: This morning we tour Dakin Farm and learn the production process of the specialty foods known the world over for their unique flavor and wholesome goodness. A highlight of our tour will be a luncheon cruise on the Spirit of Ethan Allen on beautiful Lake Champlain. Enjoy the blazing fall colors as we get a great view of this region from the lake. We then visit the Trapp Family Lodge. for a guided tour of the property and grounds and learn the history of the “Sound of Music” family. (B, L)

Day 4: A full day of touring awaits us today with a morning visit to Billings Farm Museum. We tour through the charming 1890 farm house located in the rolling Vermont Hills. We even enjoy a horse-drawn wagon ride along a scenic Vermont country road. We stop for lunch in Woodstock Village, nestled in the Vermont Mountains, before continuing to Castle in the Clouds, a picturesque mansion perched high above the lakes and mountains. Dinner will be aboard the Winnipesaukee Scenic Railroad, as we discover New Hampshire’s largest lake and savor a hand-carved turkey dinner. (B, D)

Day 5: Our final day of fall touring has us traveling the Kancamagus Highway filled with panoramic mountain views. Continue to scenic Crawford Notch, where sheer mountain walls jut up to meet the sky. We stop in charming North Conway Village and explore Zeb’s famous New England Country Store and have lunch on your own. We soar to the top of Loon Mountain on the Loon Mountain Skyride for an extraordinary view of New Hampshire’s White Mountains. Dinner is included tonight. (B, D)

Day 6: We begin our journey home with memories of our fall foliage getaway fresh in our minds. We return home in the early evening. (B)
