Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Celebrate this annual event when Boothbay Harbor is graced with elegant Windjammer sailboats from up and down the coast to honor its maritime history. Today we travel to lovely Portland, where we spend the next four nights. Dinner is included tonight. (D)

Day 2: This morning, we tour Boothbay Harbor, exploring the quiet coves, rocky shores, meandering country roads and beautiful lighthouses. This afternoon, we attend the Windjammer Festival in Boothbay Harbor. See the windjammers sail at the celebrated Parade of Sail as they glide into the harbor. Your day will be filled with sailboat races, an antique boat parade, entertainment, craft and artists’ shows and more. Windjammers were the grandest of merchant ships, designed to carry massive amounts of cargo from one continent to the other. Tonight, we celebrate another Maine tradition, a succulent Maine lobster dinner. (B, D)

Day 3: We embark on a lighthouse lover’s cruise in Portland, as we sail along Maine’s scenic coastline, viewing as many as seven lighthouses, including the famous Portland Headlight. We later stop in Freeport and visit the LL Bean Outlet store. This afternoon we take a trip back in time as we travel aboard the Maine Narrow Gauge Railroad, enjoying magnificent views of Portland’s waterfront. Dinner is included tonight at a popular local restaurant. (B, D)

Day 4: We meet our guide this morning and discover charming Kennebunkport. We enjoy views of the Bush Estate, the Wedding Cake House and a visit to the Franciscan Monastery. We take time for lunch on your own and browse the many shops and galleries on the Kennebunkport waterfront. This afternoon, we unwind on an Ogunquit Nature Cruise, as we hear about life on this rocky coast as we glide by scenic points of interest. Tonight we again enjoy the freshest of New England Seafood with a traditional lobster bake coupled with a dose of down east entertainment. (B, D)

Day 5: We begin our journey home, leaving with fond memories of our Maine seacoast holiday. (B)
